大悲菩提寺是位於多倫多附近山區的幽靜禪修寺院，在加拿大合法登記的佛寺，亦是一個以聞、思、修三學知解並重的大乘佛教道場。大悲菩提寺住持上妙下淨法師以及常住上妙下音法師隨第十七世大寶法王-噶瑪巴學習。幾年前因緣成熟，在獲得法王的指導與加持下，開始擔負起在加拿大東岸傳播佛法的重責大任。

 

 

兩位法師深知兒童與青少年的善種子、孝道觀、倫理觀、責任感等的培養必須從小開始，向下扎根。因此從2014年起開始舉辦青少年禪修營，今年2016第三屆的青少年禪修體驗營剛剛於七月二十日圓滿結營，此次五天四夜的青少年禪修營，讓年輕的青少年回歸自然與樸實自心，在妙淨法師與妙音法師的引導式的活潑教學當中, 在慈悲、感恩、與祝福之下的遇見不同的自己。

 

 

今年的禪修營可以說是動靜兼容、豐富活潑、精彩多元，有歡笑更有汗水與淚水。孩子們在各種活動的引導中，見苦知福，瞭解到了自己的幸福，並將感動化為行動。在寺院楓樹上可見一張張孩子們為世界的誠摯祝福；孩子們更在課程中省思了父母的愛，與中國傳統孝道的價值；在小組分享中，孩子們已經期許自己能將愛回饋父母並將愛與關懷延伸出去。

 

 

「孝順不能等...我的心中充满感恩…..」青少年們在結營典禮上比著簡單的歌曲表演，讓原本寧靜的山寺，因為充满了童稚的兒聲而讓人感覺備感活力! 也讓2016年大悲菩提寺青少年禪修體驗營在7月20日的結業式青少年在温韾歡樂的分享氖圍下圓滿落幕!

 

 

今年的青少年禪修體驗營為期五天四夜。在開營前兩天，兩位志工老師們從溫哥華專程來到多倫多，和指導師父們著手進行營隊開營所有的課程及前置準備工作。師父們和志工老師從課程活動設計、餐食的安排細節點滴都用盡心思，期許能將慈悲的種子撒入每一顆年輕的心田中，更希望前來參加的青少年們不僅能有個愉快又充實的暑期經驗，而且能將慈悲與感恩心帶回到生活中，給周圍的人帶來正面與光明的力量。青年夥伴們, 青少年禪修營，我們2017年8月有緣再相聚！

大悲菩提寺是位於多倫多附近山區的幽靜禪修寺院，是加拿大合法登記的佛寺，亦是一個以聞、思、修三學知解並重的大乘佛教道場。因應現代社會繁忙的都市人，大悲菩提寺在2016 年十月底舉辦了首次茶道活動。在活動中，不僅僅讓社會大眾透過聞思去更瞭解禪法、茶道及佛學之間的關連之外，也更藉由實際的敬茶及品茗中，去體會人與人之間那份彼此尊重、禮敬的關係。

 

 

其中一個學員，在女兒陪同下和自己的父親一起來參加茶道。她表示，透過這次的茶道學習，從過程中，她學習了如何觀自心，並感受到佛法所言:人生無常。尤其在生平第一次對父親奉茶的經驗中，以及女兒對自己奉茶, 在奉茶過程中，她深刻感覺到那份恭敬、莊重與感恩。也在與好友互相敬茶的過程中，感受到溫暖甚至感動到眼眶濕潤!

 

 

大悲菩提寺期許傳達給大眾的是活生生，與生活分不開的佛法。這一次茶道活動中，由妙淨法師及妙音法師引領下，與會大眾們體會何謂茶禪一味，在茶道和禪修中靜思沈澱自己，進而找回清淨本來自性。此次茶道活動在温馨中，且含有人文禪意中結束。

 

加拿大大悲菩提寺定期有青少年禪修班、成人一日禪修、在家居士八關齋戒戒會，及各類學習佛法課程和共修，歡迎有緣居士們來寺禮佛。同沾法喜!

About Abbess Master Miao Jing

Master Miao Jing was born in Taiwan to a Buddhist and traditional Confucius family where her grandparents were leave-home cultivators and her mother, a devoted Buddhist. Since youth, she was interested in Buddhism and sought to learn from great masters, such as Master Yin Shun and Master Cheng Yen. The influence of Master Cheng Yen and the grand vow of Master Xuan Zang prompted her to devote herself to promote Buddhism in the West.

In mid 80s, she immigrated to Canada with her parents and completed her high school, university and MBA education there.

In mid 90s, she vowed to renounce narrow-minded love and to cultivate herself for the sake of all sentient beings. So she returned to Taiwan to study Mahayana Buddhism and took refuge in Master Cheng Yen, the founder of Tzu Chi Foundation. Master Miao Jing was the instructing master of overseas collegiate youth and collegiate camps.

2002: In order to find the way to turn afflictions into Bodhi, she returned to Canada and entered self-cultivation and Prajnaparamita Sutra retreat.

2011: Took H.H. the 17th Karmapa as the root guru at KTD and formally began studying Vajrayana Mahamudra, as well as started the solid cultivation of integrating Mahayana and Tibetan Buddhism.

2012: Under the empowerment of H.H. the 17th Karmapa, Master Miao Jing and Master Miao Yin established Great Compassion Bodhi Prajna (GCBP) Temple which later became a registered charity organization in Canada.

2014: The Master travelled to Bodhigaya to support the First Arya Kshema Debate for nuns, hoping to start a platform for nuns of Mahayana and Tibetan Buddhism. She vowed to devote her whole being to support H.H. the 17th Karmapa’s vow to restore Tibetan Bhikkhuni precepts and Sangha.

2017: In February at Bodhigaya, she received the instruction from H.H. the 17th Karmapa to establish North America Karma Kagyu Bhikkhuni Institute which was formally established in May. On June 8th, H.H. visited and consecrated the GCBP Temple and opened ground destined for the Buddha Hall, retreat room, and 2 stupas.

2018: Organized the First International Buddhist Bhikkhuni Forum on May 26, 2018. The topic is “The influence of female practitioners in the 21th century.
