Guan Yin Six Character Mantra
Chanting the Guan Yin Six Character Mantra can eliminate the six bitternesses of the Six Realms (from the highest heaven realms, the ashura realms , the middle human realms, the animal realms, the hungry ghost realms, and the lowest hell realms) of desire and suffering.
[“om”] Extinguish the bitterness of birth, sickness, old age, and death among the heaven realms;
[“ma”]; Abolish the suffering of conflict among the Ashura;
[“ni”], Extinguish the bitterness of birth, sickness, old age, and death among humans;
[“pad”]; Free the animals from languishing under forced labour;
[“mei”]; Wipe out the pitiful cravings of the hungry ghosts ;
[“hūṃ”]; and eradicate the misery of those beings who are freezing
and boiling in the various hells.

The Source of the Great Six Character Brightness Mantra ( six-syllable mantra to Bodhisattva Guan Yin): [The Kāraṇḍavyūha Sutra / Buddha speaks Mahayana Sublime Treasure King Sutra / The Basket’s Display Sutra]
In this Sutra, Śākyamuni Buddha said: “This Great Six Character Brightness Mantra (a six-syllable mantra Bodhisattva), is the Great Avalokitêśvara Mahāsattva Bodhisattva’s profound essence. Knowing this mantra is like knowing Her profound essence, and knowing Her profound essence is knowing how to attain liberation.”
Interpreted as: “Pray to and pay homage to the one who holds this precious lotus flower in order to eliminate afflictions”
This is the fast path recieve direct blessings from Guan Yin Bodhisattva to purify your boday, speech and mind, particularly suitable for our busy modern life. The essence of Buddhism is mind training. Oṃ Ma ṇi Pad mei Hūṃ is a chant that is easy to recite and remember. It tames negative emotions and develops the compassion within you.
