The GCBP Temple plans to start a series of Dharma teachings, which will be translated into Chinese, English and other languages, on social media platforms.
More than 2,500 years ago, the Buddha attained enlightenment in India. Buddha’s teachings were transmitted from India to the rest of Asian countries. For historic reasons there are differences in the development of the Buddhadharma between different regions. The Buddha preached for forty-nine years. The core content of the Buddha’s teachings does not differ according to any geographical differences. As long as it is spoken by the Buddha, it is all Buddhadharma.
Buddhism spread from the East to the West, and now more and more Westerners are interested in Buddhism.
Venerable Miao Jing and Venerable Miao Yin have been in the West for nearly 30 years. Arising from this condition, in 2015, Ven. Miao Jing began to use YouTube to teach the stories of Avalokiteshvara directly to Westerners in English, in order to promote Buddhism in the West and help Westerners understand Buddhism.
In June 2020, Ven. Miao Jing and Ven. Miao Yin began to teach the Dharma in both Chinese and English. The teachings have then been translated from English into other languages. To enable people around the world with different language backgrounds to learn Buddha-dharma and its stepwise practice in a systematic and comprehensive way, we started the “Dharma Talk Series”. With the great compassion of Guan Yin Bodhisattva, Ven. Miao Jing began to directly teach in English in 2016. With the right motivation, we hope to use the internet to lead people of different cultures and languages to learn the Dharma.
Let us protect and uphold the proper Dharma with our pure body, speech, and mind. Monastics and lay followers, let us take action together to promote the authentic teachings of the Buddha, so that we can help sentient beings of different languages, cultures and capacities. Using modern technology, let us help beings in the world make a connection to the Buddha-dharma.
We invite you to join us in our mission to promote the Buddha’s teachings in the West.
You can support us by forwarding our Dharma videos to your friends. You can also provide financial support or other types of support to our cloud-based Dharma transmission.
The Dharma Talk Series needs your support and forwarding to more people for them to learn the Dharma.
If you wish to donate our project, please kindly join our membership programs. Thank you for your support. We rejoice in your immense merit. Homage to the Amitabha Buddha!
